Our Programming Philosophy
Greater Napanee Soccer Club designs all programming around Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) stage-appropriate principles. We prioritise age-appropriate coaching, progressive training objectives, and a play-first approach to maximise learning, enjoyment, and long-term retention in the game.
Key LTPD Principles
- Stage-appropriate coaching: practices and sessions aligned to players’ physical, cognitive, and emotional development.
- Early emphasis on physical literacy and fundamental movement skills.
- Small-sided games and deliberate play to increase touches, decision-making, and fun.
- Clear progression pathway from grassroots to talented pathway opportunities.
Playing Formats & Standards
Our playing formats are aligned with the Ontario Soccer Grassroots Standards and we display the Ontario Soccer Talented Pathway to make progression transparent to players and families.
